Public library to host poetry workshop
Today and Saturday, the Morgantown Public library will host a poetry slam and workshop in celebration of National Poetry Month. The event is designed specifically for teenagers who are looking for a place to share their creative talent and receive some valuable advice. Tamara Woods, a local poet and librarian, will be on hand to offer inspiration and feedback to all curious, young writers who wish to take part in the events. ''On Thursday, I'll be showing the kids different types of poems that they can write,'' Woods said. ''We'll do some group poems like 'tag poetry,' where one person writes something, then the next person writes something on it,'' Woodssaid. ''It's definitely a chance to learn about the different forms of poetry.'' Saturday's ''Slam'' will give participants a chance to read their work out loud in front of an audience.

Duva’s New Heavyweight Mike Marrone - Hope Or Hype?
An emerging big guy that has charisma, can fight and can punch is just what is needed to help restore popularity to the most important division in boxing and veteran trainer/manager Lou Duva thinks he may have found him. Somewhat ironically, the man who helped steer Evander Holyfield to his first world title is now guiding a young fighter he believes just might be the man to help rid the sport of the stubborn veterans that continue to clog up the division, “The Real Deal" included. Michael Marrone, barely twenty-one years of age and hailing from Vero Beach Florida, is the latest in a long line of Duva assisted fighters. And whilst speaking to both men over the phone two weeks ago (April 6th), talk centred around Marrone's chances of becoming a big player on the scene, his upcoming fight with the likewise unbeaten Malachy Farrell, and today's overall heavyweight picture.
